Professional Studies AS - Business Administration

Concentrations: General Business Administration, Accounting, Banking and Finance, International Trade, Management, Marketing.

Business Administration is designed for students seeking a career in the following business fields: general business administration, accounting, international trade, management, marketing and banking and finance. This AS provides a solid foundation for transfer to a senior institution for higher-level study. The program offers an integration of accounting, business and liberal arts courses needed to enhance critical thinking, analytical decision-making and communication skills required by contemporary professionals regardless of specialization.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

  1. Describe the external forces that affect the business world and business concepts involved with international commerce.
  2. Describe the various functions of running a business such as management, marketing, accounting, finance, human resources, information technology, ownership, and production.
  3. Describe workplace ethics and the benefits of workplace diversity.
  4. Understand how basic financial information is used in business decision making.
