NUR-183 Basic Concepts and Skills of Nursing 6 Credit(s) 3 Lab Hour(s) 2 Lecture Hour(s) 9 Clinical Hour(s)
This course is a first-level course in the nursing sequence. Concepts and Skills developed throughout the program are introduced. The National Council State Board of Nursing (NCSBN) Clinical Judgement Measurement Model (NCJMM) is presented as the organizing framework of the curriculum. The nursing process is introduced as a problem solving technique. Students will be required to pass performance tests and are expected to practice these skills to perfect techniques. Students will plan and implement nursing care in a variety of health care settings.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Department. Corequisite(s): NUR-181 ; NUR-182 ; BIO-109 ; ENG-101
