Engineering Science is designed for students who enjoy applying their knowledge to the analysis, design, and construction of physical devices. Engineering disciplines draw on the concepts of thermodynamics, fluid flow, stress and strain, electricity and magnetism, mathematics and software modeling, and complex forces.

Students who obtain an AS in Engineering Science will be prepared to continue at a four year college for more advanced content in specialized fields such as Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Chemical and Civil Engineering.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

1. Demonstrate foundational technical drawing skills.
2. Demonstrates the use of structured programming principles for the solution of engineering problems.
3. Work in teams to demonstrate proper and safe use of instrumentation and software in performing laboratory measurements and analysis to develop a growing sense of error sources that affect accuracy and precision of experimental results.
4. Demonstrate logical reasoning in problem solving by using appropriate mathematics (high level algebra and calculus), diagrams, and the principles of physics and chemistry
5. Demonstrate clear scientific writing skills and proper terminology to describe the principles of physics and chemistry.
