SUR-214 Research and Practice in Surgical Technology/Capstone 4 Credit(s) 2 Lab Hour(s) 3 Lecture Hour(s)
The Capstone is a multifaceted project showcasing students’ academic and intellectual skills as a surgical technologist.
Students will describe the pathophysiology, diagnostic testing, surgical intervention of a patient and work in groups to plan and create a mock surgery. Professional role management skills will be integrated within this course. Special emphasis is placed on preparing for the National Certification Exam.
This course will prepare students for employment as a certified surgical technologist.
Corequisite(s): SUR-210 ; SUR-212 .
