Technical Theatre Certificate of Achievement

The four courses required to obtain this Technical Theatre Certificate of Achievement are core courses in the technical theatre industry. Students completing this certificate will be qualified to work in scene shops, theatre running crews and as production assistants.
Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
- Experience the construction and finishing of scenery from design to finished product.
- Recognize the variety of technical industry jobs including stage management, board operator, stagehand, prop coordinator, dance captain, assistant to the costume designer, set designer, lighting designer, director, choreographer, and producer.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge and some experience in the assembly, hanging, and focusing procedures typically used in the operation of stage lighting instruments.
- Employ the necessary skills for front of house (FOH) and monitor mixing, live multitrack recording, and video capture and synchronization to various visual media for live events.
