HIS-132 The Spanish Speaking Caribbean and Central America since 1898 3 Credit(s) 3 Lecture Hour(s) This course is a study of the Spanish Speaking Caribbean and Central America since 1898. The course analyzes the development of the region’s principal countries, including Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. Cultural development, the impact of the United States and Cold War politics, dictatorships, land reforms and constitutional issues relative to these countries are considered.
